Research and Innovation Services

The Department of Research and Innovation Services provides a service to the University of Bradford's research community by supporting academics to identify and apply for research grants, gain ethics approval for their research, protect their ideas and find ways to make the most of novel research, seek out commercial partners to exchange knowledge with, and protect the University by handling contractual arrangements with funders and partners.

Career development

The University provide many training and development opportunities to help its research staff progress from early career to established professor. Development opportunities for research staff include training and seminars on:

  • Costing, pricing and winning grant funding
  • Impact

Research students (and staff if they wish to attend) also have access to the PGR framework. A training and development programme for doctoral researchers delivered as seminars, lectures, modules or one to one support.

The University Library also run a programme of workshops to develop your skills in finding and managing information to support your research and maximise your impact.

Research investment

Competitive internal investment funds are available for researchers to get support to travel overseas, shape and build a collaborative research bid and promote their publications. There is a particular focus on international and partner research and early career research development.
